Other Website Services
In addition to our Club, Special Event, and MiniStore packages, we offer the following a la carte services.
- Additional pages—that is, pages beyond those already in the basic Club, MiniStore, or Special Event package: $60 each.
- Maintenance and modifications to site structure—$50/hour, minimum one-half hour, or $200 for a package of five hours. (Cost for correcting errors introduced into your webpages by third-party maintenance: $100/hour.)
- Developing (writing) content—Have a professional do your stuff. $65/hour. Total cost to you depends on the source we're to use: interviewing subject-matter experts takes more time than working from notes, but generally is more reliable. The availability of subject-matter experts for timely reviews of developing material is key to time-to-completion.
- Copyediting your content—Again, have a professional do it. $45/hour. As with content development, the availability of subject-matter experts for timely review is key to time-to-completion, particularly if the original material is ambiguous or incomplete.
- Domain name registry research—Includes confirming that your chosen domain name is available, researching alternatives based on cost-control and any criteria you suggest, writing up a report with recommendations and rationale, and e-mailing you one or more links to use in registering. $50
- Web hosting service research—Includes researching hosting alternatives based on the projected size of your website, cost control, and security issues; writing up a report with recommendations and rationale; and e-mailing you one or more links to use in contracting for hosting services. $100
- Website descriptions—This is the description displayed by search engines once they decide your website matches a user's search criteria. We'll need access to your website content, or a good description of it, to develop this. $30.
- Keyword/term search-list development—These are terms that a potential client might type into a search engine, and through which that search engine will be able to locate and display your website. While the use of keywords and terms is tapering off these days, they may still be useful with certain search engines. Again, we'll need access to your website content, or a good description, to develop these. 10-20 keywords=$20, 20-50 keywords=$30.
- Secure, off-site file storage—part of your Business Disaster Recovery Plan. Includes all webpages and digital elements. Six month periods. Storage begins immediately upon “code freeze” of initial pages or after a regular maintenance cycle. $30/maintenance cycle.

- Additional hardcopy graphics scanned in—Cost depends on the resulting size and pixel density you want. If you need the originals back there will be shipping/insurance costs.
- Usability testing of an existing website—Is your current website the solution you were hoping it would be? We can review it from the perspective of a user. Our reviews give you solid, clearly written comments that you can take back to your website designer in order to create real-world improvements to your page. Reviews include: clarity/understandability of layout; accuracy of existing navigational aids; any missing navigational aids; keyword assessment; accuracy of all links; logical disconnects in content; ambiguities in text; and unprofessional-looking grammar, punctuation, and spelling mistakes. If needed we can coordinate and deliver the results of a usability test with additional users. Such a test can tell you not only about your website's ease of use but whether or not critical information is being noticed. Cost depends on the number of pages in your site and the complexity of each page. Group testing involves additional fees.
- Digital photography—Clear, clean photographic images, including "clip" or incidental art. Copyrighted to you along with the rest of your content, meaning that you also may use them for hardcopy or video advertising campaigns. Cost depends on distance to be traveled—realistically, this service is limited to the near environs of Butte County, California—and number of hours required.
